Smart Access Cable (2018+ Dodge / Jeep / Ram)

The Smart Access Cable is required for proper tuning communication on select 2018 and newer Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles equipped with factory security gateway systems. This cable enables supported tuning platforms to communicate with the PCM and other control modules that would otherwise be restricted by factory security protocols.

Beginning in 2018, many FCA platforms implemented enhanced controller security. Without a proper communication interface, tuning devices may be blocked from accessing calibration functions.

This cable restores controlled communication for supported tuning platforms.

Why the Smart Access Cable Is Required

On security gateway-equipped vehicles:

• OBD-II communication may be restricted
• PCM calibration access may be blocked
• Flashing new calibration files may fail
• Module communication errors may occur

The Smart Access Cable provides the necessary hardware interface to allow proper communication between the vehicle and supported tuning devices.

Required For 3.0L EcoDiesel PCM Upgrade & Tuning Applications

For 2020–2022 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel and 2020 Jeep 3.0L EcoDiesel models that have undergone the PCM Upgrade Modification Service (SKU: SM-001), this cable is mandatory.

Without the Smart Access Cable, tuning communication will not function correctly on these vehicles.
