The S&S Diesel Motorsport® Fuel Leak Prevention Kit replaces the factory plastic engine-mounted fuel filter housing on 2011-2016 Ford 6.7L Power Stroke trucks with a billet aluminum housing, a Donaldson spin-on filter, and an aluminum return fitting. It addresses two separate leak points that the factory built from plastic, and it improves filtration while it does so.

The OEM housing cracks. The OEM injector return fitting goes brittle and breaks. Both leak diesel into the valley of a hot engine, and both are made of a material that was never going to survive fifteen years of heat cycling under that hood. This kit removes both failure points and keeps the factory mounting location, so nothing about the install is exotic.

Features

  • Billet aluminum engine-mounted fuel filter housing
  • Replaces the crack-prone plastic OEM filter housing
  • Donaldson spin-on fuel filter, 4-micron absolute at 99% efficiency
  • Exceeds OEM dirt-holding capacity: 23 grams against the factory 12 grams
  • Aluminum Fuel Leak Prevention Fitting replaces the brittle plastic OEM injector return fitting
  • Retains the factory filter mounting location
  • Pairs with the CP4 Disaster Prevention Kit, the DCR pump conversion, or a completely stock fuel system
  • Made in the USA

What's Included

  • Billet aluminum filter housing assembly
  • Donaldson P584171 engine-mounted spin-on fuel filter
  • Aluminum Fuel Leak Prevention Fitting for the injector return
  • Mounting hardware

Filtration Specifications

  • Engine-mounted spin-on: 4-micron absolute at 99% efficiency (OEM-spec)
  • Dirt-holding capacity: 23 grams, against 12 grams for the factory element
  • Filter supplier: Donaldson
  • Mounting: retains the factory filter location

Fitment

  • 2011-2016 Ford F250 through F550 with the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel
Optional Upgrade
Refresh the chassis filter at the same time

The Kit Plus adds the chassis-mounted replacement filter, so the truck leaves with both filters new instead of one. Same housing, same fitting, one service interval reset.

Why it matters on the 6.7L Power Stroke

The Bosch CP4.2 high-pressure pump runs on every 6.7L Power Stroke from 2011 forward, and it depends on diesel fuel itself for lubrication. North American ULSD already sits at the dry edge of what that pump was engineered around, which is why a CP4 failure tends to be total rather than gradual: the pump grinds itself and sends fine steel debris downstream through rails, lines, and injectors. Filtration margin is not cosmetic on this platform. It is inexpensive insurance against the single largest financial exposure the engine carries.

The factory plastic filter housing is a separate problem with the same root cause as other known 6.7L plastic failures, including the degas bottle and the cold-side charge-air pipe: sustained under-hood heat cycling. Plastic that has been through a decade of heat cycles cracks. When this one cracks, it leaks diesel onto a hot engine.

Fitment is listed by model year and engine. Confirm your configuration before ordering. Installation is straightforward for a competent shop or an experienced owner, but this is a fuel-system component: it must be assembled clean, torqued correctly, and leak-checked before the truck returns to service.
